Female House Manager (Part-Time)

Since 1954 Bethel Bible Village has provided safe, nurturing and Christ-centered homes on our Hixson campus.  Bethel offers healing and hope to children and teens who have faced a life-changing crisis, or whose families have been impacted by crisis.

We are currently seeking a Female Part-Time House Manager to serve approximately 14 hours per week  in our transitional living program for girls 18-22.  Your role will be teaching life and parenting skills, and to inspire their physical, spiritual, intellectual, and emotional development.  Housing and utilities are provided!

Qualifications:

  • Spiritual: Be an active participating Christian in a local congregation with a commitment to Bethel Bible Village’s Code of Conduct and Employee Covenant
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
  • Specific Skills: One year of youth related experience required – educating, coaching, or working with school-aged children.  Experience working with teens and young adults is preferred.  Effective verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills required.  Previous computer experience preferred.
  • License: Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Other Requirements: Minimum age requirement for this position is 25 years of age.  Applicant must be lawfully authorized to work in the U.S., and successfully pass a background check, drug screen, and physical.

House Parents – Couple (Full Time)

We envision children transformed by the redemptive power of Jesus Christ and empowered to fulfill all their God-given potential. Our mission is to provide safe, nurturing and Christ-centered homes for children of families in crisis, and equip and inspire them to live productive lives.

POSITION OVERVIEW This position provides a temporary home for children and youth in the absence of the natural parents.  The Houseparent(s) will bring the children and youth to spiritual, emotional, physical, and social maturity until their own homes can be restored. It is the Houseparents’ responsibility to train the children and youth in all areas of life according to Biblical principles and good childcare practices. The Houseparent(s) will have a full understanding of the diverse cultures and circumstances experienced by our clients.  The Houseparent(s) will assist in the training of other house parent staff.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Spiritual: In accordance with the Mission of Bethel Bible Village, will share the gospel with children in our care, as well as their families, to help them know and respond to the love of God in Christ.  Be an active participating Christian in a local congregation.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.  College degree preferred.

Requirements:  The minimum age requirement for this position is 21 years of age.  A married or single person may apply; however, the living quarters is tight for two people.  Because of the live-in nature of the position, no more than two dogs are permitted, and they must live outside.  A candidate must successfully pass a physical, drug screen and TB test.

Specific Skills: One year of youth related experience.  Sensitivity to the cultural differences present among the residents and families served.  Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills are preferred.  Previous computer experience preferred.

Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Etc.: A valid driver’s license is required.

Director of Retail Operations

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:   The position of Director of Retail Operations exists to exercise general day to day operations and management of the Bethel Thrift Store.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Spiritual:  Display a dynamic personal faith and be an active participating Christian in a local congregation.  In accordance with the Mission of Bethel Bible Village, will share the gospel with customers, employees, and children in our care, as well as their families, to help them know and respond to the love of God in Christ.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related discipline highly desired.  One to three years job-related retail management experience providing a high level of customer service may be substituted or given credit in place of college degree.

Specific Skills/Requirements:  Possess strong leadership skills that include professional business ethics, personal integrity, assertiveness, self-motivation, and a commitment to service and building customer loyalty.  Strong capabilities in the areas of interpersonal skills, team building, time management, organizational and communication.  Problem-solving ability.  Entrepreneur and business management/development skills to lead a non-profit retail store staff in a very competitive market with limited resources but with great brand awareness, strong donor, and customer base.  Must be people oriented and self-sufficient.

Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.:  Must possess a valid Driver’s License.  Class F Endorsement and experience operating a box truck is a plus. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required.
