An elderly man was swindled by home contractors who took his money, didn't finish the work and then stole from him.
Brian, teen one of our teen boys, felt called to right this injustice, using the skills he learned in our wood shop from his House Parent Dustin Rohrer. He wanted to do this as a service project — like many service projects he has seen people do for the kids at Bethel.
Working side by side as the hands and heart of Jesus, Dustin and Brian were able to hang more than 30 sheets of sheetrock and finish the majority of the ceiling. (Slide left to see more project pics!) Brian, who wants to work in construction someday, was blessed in return. The grateful homeowner, whose medical problems kept him from doing the work himself, guided Brian as he worked, sharing wisdom from his many years of experience in construction. Brian learned you can't out-give God!
If you have ever wondered if you are making a difference at Bethel, know that our kids are watching you. They see you being the hands and feet of Jesus with your gifts and time, and they are following your lead to pass the blessing along to others.
Thanks for all you do to show them the love of Jesus! #givingback #payitforward #makingadifference #heroesforhope #bethelheroes ...
