Doctrinal Statement

This Bethel Bible Village Doctrinal Statement is a summary of what we believe as Christians:

We believe the Bible is the true word of God and provides wisdom, guidance, and authority for our lives.

We believe in one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe Jesus Christ, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, is true God and man.

We believe that man was created in the image of God and that sin separates us from God. We all sin and need Jesus Christ as our savior.

We believe that Jesus died for our sins so we can live forever with God in heaven. We are saved from hell because we believe in Him and He saved us.

We believe that everyone who has faith and believes in Jesus receives this gift of salvation, freely given to us by God’s grace. We do not do anything to “earn’ this, but when we believe in Jesus, we are saved. Salvation and a place in heaven is secured eternally for all believers.

We believe Jesus died on the cross, was buried, rose again, and went to Heaven. When we pray, he intercedes for us. He brings our prayers to God our Father.

We believe that everyone who receives Jesus by faith, is spiritually born again and is now a child of God.

We believe that each child of God should live for Jesus and should honor Him the way the Bible shows us. This includes being baptized in water to show our commitment to follow Jesus, breaking bread together in the Lord’s Supper to remind us of His sacrifice, following his commandments, and seeking to live a God honoring life.

We believe that God created marriage as a gift between a man and a woman as the foundation of the family.

We believe that it is the job of every family to love, nurture, protect, and teach children how to live a God-led life.

We believe that all who trust in Jesus should live in spiritual unity.

We believe that every person will be judged by God, and those who are saved will live forever with God.

We believe in the “blessed hope” that Jesus will return to Earth in glory, as promised in the Bible.
