Crisis Housing for Families

Next Step –  Hope and Temporary Housing for Families in Crisis

It might start with the loss of a job, a change in salary, a crisis pregnancy, or a challenging medical crisis. Suddenly, it becomes impossible to pay the mortgage or rent.

Next Step is a transitional living program designed to address the needs of families or single parents who are experiencing this kind of temporary housing crisis. This program allows homeless families to remain living together as they work their way back to independence.

This program serves:

  • Single parent families with minor children
  • Husband and wife families with minor children
  • Pregnant women who are in need of housing to develop stability

Young adults in the program must be at least 18 years of age.

To qualify for this help, homeless families must have:

  • Their own transportation
  • A source of income
  • A plan for regaining independence that can be completed in nine months

Families typically stay in the program for six to nine months. During this time, they live in family-style homes in a private neighborhood at the rear of our 64-acre campus. It is a safe environment for children.

A Plan for the Future

Bethel Bible Village helps families regain their independence and self-sufficiency by assisting with continuing education, budgeting and finance, home management, life management or work skills, as needed.

To help families through the relational challenges of a housing crisis, Bethel Bible Village partners with “Parents as First Teachers,” which provides parenting help and mentoring.

A Child-friendly Neighborhood
The Bethel Bible Village campus is a safe place for families with children and offers plenty of opportunities for the physical exercise and fresh air that kids need. Our campus features a gymnasium, basketball court, playground, tennis courts and plenty of green spaces
